Each Friday on Daybreak, Mark and Gretchen will introduce you to three pets up for adoption from TAPS Shelter in Pekin. Here you can find pictures of and information about the animals.

Smokie

Our first cat is a big guy named Smokie. He is a 23 pound domestic long haired cat. He gets along with cats, dogs and older kids. He is two paw de-clawed. He was surrendered on October 5.

Graham

Graham is a three and a half year old domestic short hair orange tabby. He is FIV positive which means he can live with other FIV cats or he has to be the only cat. He was returned on November 26 because he didn't get along with small kids.

Brandy

Brandy is a six-year-old St. Bernard. She was brought to TAPS on December 3 as a rescue.

Jemall

Jemall is an 11 year old domestic short hair black cat. He was brought to TAPS on April 19 as a stray. He gets along with cats and is litter box trained. He has a thyroid condition on takes two pills a day.

Monte is an orange domestic short hair cat. She was brought to TAPS as a stray on March 21. This one and a half year old is litter box trained and gets along with cats.

Flower

Flower is a one year old stray who was brought into TAPS on March 15. She is a very social domestic short hair black cat who is litter box trained.

Florence is 13 1/2 years old. She was returned to TAPS on November 4. She is a domestic short hair tortie. She gets along with dogs, but not cats. She is litter box trained and would do well with older people.

Our first cat today is Tommy. He is a gray and white domestic short hair tabby. He was brought into TAPS November 14 as a stray. Tommy is two years old and litter box trained.

Ziggy

Ziggy loves belly rubs. He is three and a half years old and was brought in July 9 as a rescue. He is a domestic short hair orange and white tabby. He is litter box trained.

Karmi

Karmi is a year and a half old. She is a Jack Russell Terrier mix. She was brought into TAPS on November 14 as a surrender because she needs a lot of room to run around. Karmi needs a home with no cats or dogs. She likes kids, dogs and car rides. Karmi is house broken.

Sisters Annabella and Kate are lab mixes. Annabella is solid black and Annabella is black and brown. They were brought in October 10 because their owner couldn't take care of them. They're almost six years old and get along with kids, dogs and love car rides. Plus they are housebroken.

This is Angel Eyes. This domestic short hair cat has been here since April 25. She is one and a half years old, gets along with other cats and is litter box trained.

Smokey is four and a half years old and was brought in to TAPS on December 20 of 2007. He is a domestic short-haired cat and is front paw declawed. He is litter box trained and would do best in a home where he is the only cat and there are no young kids.

Hugo is a four and a half year old lab mix. He can sit, stay, shake and lays down on command. He is house broken and rides well in cars. He would do best in a home with no cats, dogs or young kids.

Our cat today is Ninja. He is a domestic medium haired cat. The eight-month-old was brought into TAPS on April 19 and surrendered because his owner couldn't afford him. He is litter box trained and gets along with cats and dogs, but would do better with older kids. He is litter box trained.

Our first cat is Gabbi, a two year old domestic medium hair cat. She was brought into TAPS on September 25 as a return because her owners had to move. She doesn't get along with dogs and we're not sure about cats. She gets along with kids, is litter box trained and is two paw de-clawed.

Big Daddy

Big Daddy is a big, black cat. This two year old was brought into TAPS on May 14. He is a domestic short hair cat. We're not sure if he gets along with cats and dogs, but he likes kids and is litter box trained.

Cookie is a little shy and nervous. This nine and a half year old was brought into TAPS on September 10 as a surrender. She gets along with cats, but we're not sure about dogs. She does well on car rides.

Walter is a six year old black lab and was brought here on August 11. His old family has a baby and they didn't have time for Walter. He is allergic to wheat and has to eat special food. He gets along with kids and dogs but not cats. He loves to chew on ice cubes.

Berk is a two year old silver tabby who was abandoned at TAPS. He gets along with cats, would get along best with older, well-behaved kids and is litter box trained.

Daisee is a ten year old dalmation. She was surrendered by her owner because he traveled too much. She is house broken, likes car rides, is good with cats dogs and older kids. Daisee has been deaf since she was a puppy. Otherwise Daisee is in good shape.

Ten-year-old Faith is lucky to be alive. She was found in a field, dehydrated, anemic and wounded. The folks at TAPS nursed her back to health. She is a domestic short hair Calico, gets along well with other cats and is litter box trained.

Mookie is a one year old domestic short hair cat brought here to TAPS on May 28 as a return. He was dumped here so we're not sure why his owner gave him up. Mookie gets along with cats and kids and is litter box trained. He also has an identical twin named monkey available for adoption.

We think James and Zorro are brothers because they came in together on March 5. This one year old is a black and white kitty. She is also litter box trained and gets along with other cats.

Bootsie was dumped at TAPS back on August 9. She is a five and a half year old domestic short hair cat. She is litter box trained and is front paw de-clawed. She gets along well with other cats.

Betsy

Betsy is a talker. The eight month old was dumped at TAPS along with Bootsie last August, but we don't know if the two are related. Betsy is a black and white domestic short hair cat. She is also litter box trained and gets along with cats.

Janus

This is Janus and he is April's brother and thankfully April was adopted this week. Janus is a curious five-month-old domestic short hair cat who gets along well with other cats and is litter box trained.

Jayden

Jayden was returned to TAPS because her owner couldn't take care of her anymore. She has been here since the middle of November. This one and a half year old lab-rott mix has a lot of energy. She loves car rides and loves to go for walks and would do best in a home without other pets or small children.

Our cat today is Flora. She is a 2 year old domestic long hair cat. She was abandoned here at TAPS in the middle of May. She is litter box trained and is very nice.

Chester

Chester is a domestic male short hair cat. He is white with pretty orange spots. He is a heavy one and a half year old cat. He gets along with cats and dogs and is litter box trained. He was brought here is a rescue on July 1.

Bailey

Our first dog of the day is a big dog who may need a big place to live. This is Bailey. Bailey tops one-hundred-pounds, but is really gentle. Bailey is a lab-shepherd mix, about four years old. Mostly black, but has some white on her paws and neck. She has been here about a week, and is house-broken and does great with cats, dogs and kids. Even though Bailey is big, he is very calm. Come on by and see Bailey!
